Dr. Cathy Mwangi is a senior health executive experienced in providing business and technology solutions for organizations in the USA and Kenya, with over 24 years’ experience in business and health management. Cathy has worked with some of the finest academic and health institutions, i.e. Computer Career Institute at Johns Hopkins University; University of Maryland Medical Systems; Georgetown University Hospital;NextGen Health Systems; Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi; Strathmore University; CDC Foundation and mHealth Kenya.
Cathy is currently the CEO for mHealth Kenya, a company that has developed and implemented ICT and mHealth solutions nationally in partnership with the Ministry of Health through Kenya Medical Supply Authority, Kenya National Blood Transfusion Services, National AIDS and STI Control Program and the Kenyan Emergency Operations Center.
Cathy was awarded ICT Woman of the Year 2014 and ICT Leadership Award 2015 by the ICT Association of Kenya at the ICT Value Awards and Ethical Leader Award by ELNET in 2017. mHealth Kenya under her leadership has also won Best Use of ICT in Health both in 2014 and 2015 by ICTAK, Plus One Awards in Health 2015 by CIO East Africa and the Ethical Business Award in 2017.Cathy is keen and enjoys mentoring the youth and young entrepreneurs and sits in several youth boards.
